What is Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, is a Hatha yoga system of postures and linking movements passed down from Sri T. Krishnamacharya to his student, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.  Sri K Pattabhi Jois taught this system his family in Mysore, India and around the world for over 70 years.  It is now practiced by thousands of people around the world.  

Their are three main sequences of postures:  Primary (Yoga Chikitsa), Intermediate (Nadi Shodhana), and Advanced Series (Sthira Bhaga).

My Approach: Ashtanga & Yoga Therapy.

I teach traditional Ashtanga Yoga, Yoga therapy, pranayama and chanting.

With inspiration from my teacher Manju Jois (the founder’s eldest son) and 37 yrs of yoga & movement training I will personalize your practice, taking into account your age, physical ability and physical issues present.

You will acquire a personal yoga practice that is challenging and therapeutic. This will provide the ground work for a long term health and inner development. .

Mysore style is self practice in a group setting. Practice is at your pace and proficiency. In Zoom classes guidance comes from the Greg giving postural corrections, subtle adjustments and encouragement. Best results comes from non-forced consistent practice, 3-6 times a week.


What you need to know
-
The class is open to everyone. 
- Yoga is a developmental practice. Beginners will start with (about) 20 minutes, and build up to 90 min of practice over time. 
- Equipment: a yoga mat, comfortable workout clothing, a level floor (zoom).
- If you have injuries and difficult areas please talk to me before the class 
- If you are pregnant please tell me.
